Twenty tertiary students and graduates took part in the maiden edition of the “Young Scholars Bible Training Program” at the Heritage Bible Institute (HBI). The 2-week program exposed students to different topics in Bible and ministry. Students from the University of Ghana, Ghana Technology University College, Central University, Accra Technical University and Heritage Christian College participated in the maiden edition.
The “Young Scholars Bible Training Program” was developed by the HBI to meet a critical need in the churches of Christ in Ghana: that is, providing Bible training for tertiary students and graduates with plans for ministry, evangelism, teaching the church and impacting souls through effective leadership.
There is a bulk of students at universities, polytechnics, teacher-training and nurse-training colleges who desire to be ministers of the gospel, Bible Class teachers or who find themselves playing various roles in church leadership and want to have good training in Bible and church leadership but their education and careers do not help them to do so.
The modular Bible Training program is meeting this need by hosting students during vacations at the campus for a 2-week full-day training. The next session is in December 2018.
